Beaded Face

This hand beaded necklace is made with assorted beads, delicas and other components enhancing the terra cotta face. The colors (which don’t show well in this picture) are irridescent purples, shades of blue and grey, white pearls and heshis.necklace600x5161

By using various sized beads and the peyote stitch you can create the flowing and open areas giving the headwrap a feeling of a scarf. I will be posting some general instructions and will look for the name of the person who creates these faces individually. I prefer Soft Flex wire for these neccklaces as I feel it gives more support, but other types of thread or material could be used.

Updated the picture to show more detail.

What a lovely piece. I like the contrast of the rustic terra cotta face and the iridescence of the beads. In your future post, I would love to see a close up of the beads or maybe a link to a larger view of the image. I knew that I liked the pendant at first glance but it wasn’t until I read the post that I discovered that the scarf that I liked was actually beadwork :)
